So I'm curious, being a bit of a nerd on both berets and monarchical history, I've always liked the classic Carlist beret with the tassel. Does anyone know if there's still a source for these? So far I've turned up nothing; in fact I wonder if these were largely just local red berets with the...
I rather appreciated that scene in a morbid way, for the way it was executed but also, when looking at it from the perspective of the German soldier that shot that old man, were I in that same awful position I could see myself doing the same thing. One of your own people, whether you view them...
I suppose the pride of my collection is my small Imperial German Great War lot, a 1914 Iron Cross II class, a Bavarian Military Merit Cross 3rd Class with Swords, and a Wound Badge in Black. I do have a number of CCCP and DDR medals and badges as well, including a WWII Order of the Red Star and...
Just received my vintage Medico Jetstream in the mail today; filled it with some Brigadier Black Sherman's March and puffed away. Lovely little pipe with classic 1950s lines.

I'm actually a little surprised no one has commented on a more practical aspect of this gadget: that it can stock shelves. As I recall Boston Dynamics was acquired by Google, and Atlas uses the same sensor package as the Google driverless car. It immediately strikes me Google is trying to corner...
Oh man, talk about a blast from the past. My sister and I were both given ViewMaster viewers as kids, along with my Dad's reel collection and projector. Shame the projector died on us some time back, and the cells are falling out of the cards on some of reels so I avoid handling them, but now...
Probably Jeff Cooper, though I'm sure it was said by cowboys and foot soldiers long before.
No need for me to repeat what has already been said by many wise men in this thread; the best gun is the gun you have, the best caliber the one you can hit with. I myself admire the .45, but have small...
I wouldn't discount gin if you or your circle enjoy martinis, Bombay Sapphire is my go-to. Vodka is versatile but is profaned if consumed at room temperature.
Looking back now I've realised I just overreacted. It was nothing more than a surface imperfection in the meer being brought out by colouring. All is well and smoking happily.
