What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Now that is a beauty, Randall. Looks good on you, too. Any labels under that supple looking sweatband?

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Great to hear from you, Nathan. You're looking good, and look like yourself even though you don't feel or see it. Don't be too sorry about slow Internet. It's good to get off the grid. Love the cap, my friend. Stay safe and be well.

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

The market is different now. Plus, thanks to Manchester United (my team), the world has heard of Manchester :)

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

The rational was sales. London, Paris, New York were known cities of fashion. Manchester wasn't, though that was the centre of English hat makers since the early to mid 1800s.

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Great looking Moores' Homburg with a very nice contrasting ribbon, bow, and brim binding colour. Moores were one of the great Manchester hat makers from the Denton area, so it always pains me that they didn't put Manchester on the designation along with London, Paris, and New York.

    The Bowler or Derby Hat

My initial reaction is circa 1920s/30s. Two nice finds, btw.

What Cap Are You Wearing Today?

The temperatures are getting cooler, and the nights are drawing in here in Denmark, so time for some headwear. Cap from Bohlins of Gothenburg, Sweden for a day out in Copenhagen's famous Tivoli Gardens.

    Western, anyone?

Sounds like a good idea, Mike. Go for it!

    The Bowler or Derby Hat

I'd say they're original. I have a Stetson Bowler from the late 1920s / early 30s period with original vent eyelets. Please post more photos of the liner and any labels under the sweatband.

Ask a question, get an answer

First of all, what size are you? Large sizes are not easy to find, but not impossible. Here are some suggestions: Check out flea markets in your area. Facebook Market Place: write in the search function what you're looking for. Check the thread "Post New Hats" on the Fedora Lounge. Members...

Ask a question, get an answer

If you're in Norway then a custom hat from Hornskov Hats in Denmark or Hufved in Sweden would save you a lot of money postage wise. Check out their websites. Alternatively, go vintage. It's what most of us do here on the FL. You'll get a much better hat for a lot less money than a modern...

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Looks good on you, Randall. Who gives a hoot how "modern" it is when the style is still so Stetson cool.

    Post New Hats Here!

I'm definitely of the opinion that it is a 1940s era hat. The red duplicate label looks Stetson like to me.

    Post New Hats Here!

Love your new hat shop Randall. I can definitely see you hattering away there. Lucien de Brabant et frére was a top notch Parisien hat shop like Sools. They didn't make their own hats, so whoever made that one will remain a mystery. It could be Mossant or Motsch, perhaps. Is there a label...

    Post New Hats Here!

I'm sorry to say, I don't believe it has any Stockport connection, David. However, I'm sure you can find one of the Stockport hatters hats to add to your English collection :)

    Post New Hats Here!

An excellent first English hat, David. Well worth falling off the wagon for. The King referred to would be George VI who reigned from late 1936 to 1952. The shape and style of the hat definitely place it in the 1930s/40s era. After his death Scott & Co were hatters to George VI's daughter and...

Still a great line up though a day late, Stefan :) Do I detect a Fleur bow treatment on the Knox Twenty-Five?

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Wow! I'd love to see that festival one day, Nathan. Great to hear from you again. Hope your physical training in Thailand does the trick for your health. Take care, friend.
