    Christy's of London

I notice they don't display where they are made, so l suppose they are made cheaply offshore? Instead of paying 900 asd for a beaver, would it be more worthwhile to pay 400 asd for a rabbit fur fedora? OR, if it is a waste of money maybe l should go custom and get a proper fedora. I don't like...

    Christy's of London

There is a Christy's in beaver felt for sale locally. Do they make a high quality hat? Is it worth the $900 price tag? What is comparable quality?

    Show us your SHOES !!!

My prized Silvano Lattanzi collection thus far. I will probably get a few more and then finish buying them. The comfort and style is unparalleled imo. They also use special sole and heel leather that only a few makers have access too, and the leather uppers are a special high quality leather...

My new shoes. All made by Silvano Lattanzi. Extremely rare shoes that were buried in the ground for years in order to get a natural patina. Buried shoe and a norvegese monk. A handmade longwing

    The BORSALINO BROTHERHOOD

My hat maker told me today that Borsalino is trying to build back the old quality back into their hats. Is this true, are things getting better quality wise?

Went to the mountains to visit and get fitted by one of the panama hat maestro. He designs some of the most stylish panama hats you have ever seen, and the hats give off such great looks. It is winter here in Australia so haven't got the right clothes to wear them yet, but bought these hats...

    Boater faction!

Out and about in the city. Was really in the mood for wearing the boater in the city today. Felt good wearing it, and no-one even blinked an eyelid all day. Boaters can be pulled off....i've got some middle age spread and don't give a stuff what anyone thinks of my boater, so it works for me...

    Boater faction!

It was a special day because I received my custom boater from Cappelleria Melegari with the black ribbon. It fits me nice and will be more versatile than my Ponte Rialto with the blue/red ribbon. Here are my two top boaters: Ponte Rialto (at top) and the Cappelleria Melegari (at bottom)...

    Post New Hats Here!

Received my custom boater with the black ribbon this morning. It is made by Cappelleria Melegari. Not quite as good as the Ponte Rialto boater above it, but almost as good. Will post some more photos and do some commentary in the boater faction thread.

    Boater faction!

It is new year's day, and waiting for guests to arrive while wearing my boater. A nautical theme of navy shirt with stark white cotton trousers and the boater. The photo shows the boater can be worn on hot days with casual clothing. It is too hot in Australia to be wearing blazers. Burgundy...

The ole Scala boater gets critiqued Here is what l found when looking online at the Scala boater. It really does cut corners and looks second rate when l look closely at it. The weave looks looser, and much more rough. A very flimsy weave. Brim does not look as thick as the proper quality...

    Boater faction!

I've been working my way slowly through this thread, so if l touch on stuff that has been said before, bare with me. How boaters are made I was looking carefully at my Ponte Rialto boater and it looks almost all handmade. All of the straw is hand sewn together with only the outer brim stitch...

Yes it is from Hills Hats in NZ. It is not a strong hat and needs to be handled carefully. They do fit true to size.

^^^ A great looking hat, and really suits you too. Yes, l am after a nice bowler. Maybe l can get one in my size and have my hat man steam it to fit.

^^^ thanks, but the boater looks much better in person, and especially on the head with the right type of clothes. I've had the hat on all day, and thoroughly enjoying it.

Let me build up to posting photos of me in the hats. Took some today actually, but won't post them yet. Found out that l actually did order that o'connells boater, and it is good because l won't have to custom order one with that ribbon now. It fits really good, and it certainly makes a...

    Post New Hats Here!

I received this boater from O'connells recently. Ordered my usual size and it fits really nice with the help of a kitchen sponge in the sides. More commentary and pictures of my boater(s) in the boater thread. Took the inside of the hat because l know @Rmccamey always asks for it. It is...
