    My CG coat does have a printed CG tag. It doesn't however, have that little embroidered emblem. A few years ago I bought a Kersey coat that had the small emblem on the sleeve .     I also bought one a few years ago and was told it was a different year. I think it was supposed to be an early '50s.. The tag was a 1949. I lucked out on that one. Love those '49s.

    Melton coats have a vertical pocket opening on the right side of the front of the coat in between the second and third buttons. Inside the coat and inside that pocket is the tag which has the coats information, Melton coats do not have a full length inside nylon liningng.

    I have a 1969 Kersey coat which has a tag that states it is " 44L " (Long). It is actually a 46L. It fits the same as my other 8 size 46 peacoats.

    Let us not forget that Kersey has a superior appearance over Melton. These US Navy Peacoats certainly look quite sharp!!! Melton looks good but it ain't in the same class as Kersey.

    Hi Preppy I'm not at all surprised that it kept you warm, Winter is finally coming to our area of NY. We are 61 miles north of the Bronx/ Westchester border. High temps in the low 30s and low temps upper teens to low 20s. for the whole week. I have my closet packed and I'm ready to go.
