Agreed. I don't like people deciding what works and what doesn't. I dislike fashion trends even more. Whatever is "in" will only ever suit a limited group of people. As long as you wear something you're comfortable in, you'll be fine. And as you say, it never hurts to stretch your comfort zone...

I found burgundy/oxblood to be more versatile than either black or brown.
