    Experimenting on foods.

Roast pork. Potato. Noodles. It was what I had. The experiment was putting it all together. Sometimes you eat hash browns for dinner.

    Red Wing Recommendations

Most people are satisfied with Red Wing shoes. They can do quite a bit. But the soles are not for hiking.

    Red Wing Recommendations

I don't think that the soles are for hiking. The mini lug soles would not get enough traction for off-road use. It's more of a "city boot". It is a good boot. A cobbler will be able to install a full lug sole for hiking. Buying a $350 boot, then spending another $150 to install a full lug...

    Jim Green Boots

I could be mistaken. In my mind, a "true moccasin" was a piece of leather under the foot, that wrapped up over the foot, which is then sewn to the rest of the shoe. In my mind, it's actually a solid, single piece of leather. It looks like Jim Green is doing something similar, but...

    Whites perry sizing vs Thorogood

Shoe sizing is never standard. Different shoes fit different. Very difficult to buy what you can't try on. Sure, maybe you can get away with it most of the time. But there will be some circumstances where you just regret buying, and then having to pay to ship it back.

    The 80s, myth and reality?

There were changes. Policy changed. Living standards changed. According to my Dad, the inflation in the mid to late 70's was a head Turner for a lot of people. A lot of households went from single income to dual income+. A lot more women had to go to work instead of staying at home. Most...

    Jim Green Boots

Pretty accurate assessment. Jim Green is sold from $200 - $300. On sale between $100 - $200. And that's about where it stands in comparison to boots from $300 - $600. Maybe not "the best" boot that you can buy. But good for the money that you spend. For $100 - $200, Jim Green is just as...

    Jim Green Boots

Here's a look at Jim Green African Ranger which is supposed to be a 2E width, next to a Thorogood 2E. Both are marked as size 10. The Thorogood 10 2E is longer and narrower than the Jim Green 10. Something to consider when ordering online and you're not sure of sizing. People often say that...

    The 80s, myth and reality?

The 80's was a time of little animals on your shirt to represent status.

    Moc Toe boots

I just bought another pair. The price was right. Ordered size 10D. The box said 9D. The shoe said 10 2E. It doesn't feel wide. It actually feels okay. I may keep them. I may send them back. It's psychological. I don't like the thought of having fat feet.
