Pulled on one of the Champ Featherweights this morning. Love these light little lids. They may be what got my addiction started... The Champ Featherweight was my Grandfathers favorite hat.
Thank you, sir. Not a bad backup, I guess!Beautiful hat, nonetheless!
Or perhaps, @TimmyV, The Wonderful Wizard of Whipstitch…I hereby dub thee the Whipstitch Wizard.

Resistol?I’ve just returned from the tobacconist’s shop that also handles parcel deliveries for various couriers.
The contents are excellent—and plentiful, too, with options for both large and small sizes.

I thought it might be fun to turn this into a little game centered on hats: who made them, where do they come from, and how did they end up on our heads? The challenge is: who crafted this hat?

I believe this is only the second time in my life that I’ve worn a hat of this particular make.
The first was back in the early seventies—bought by a friend who was absolutely captivated by the Marlboro advertisements—which was very similar: cream-colored, with a brim shaped just like this one.
And now, this Western-style (or similar) hat has arrived.

Go ahead—make your guesses as to who might have made it and brought it to Italy.
As for the prize? We’ll discuss that once the mystery is solved![]()

My guess too.That's a Barbisio!
Not at all MarcelThat's a Barbisio!
Jeff, not the perfect guessMy guess too.
Marcel, how many Italian felt hats are there that are very similar to the one seen in today’s Western-style look?A great many. Brown, in its various shades, was a color highly favored by Italian hatmakers. This is why i thought Barbisio....
I do have a western Borsalino or two, but that one you are wearing would be quite the departure.Jeff, not the perfect guess

I believe that, along with the various grays, it’s one of the most popular choices.
Is it a Castorino? ;-)I’ve just returned from the tobacconist’s shop that also handles parcel deliveries for various couriers.

The "Castorino" will be online in the next few days—rain permitting, given that my photo setup is located on the trunk of the wisteria. Is it a Castorino? ;-)
Your reasoning is correct that it's not a type of hat I've worn very rarely, but here in Italy it's never been worn, except at some equestrian events.I dont expect it to be a popular European brand since Daniele said it was only the 2nd hat of this brand he had worn. Hence mybguess of Resistol. Lol
