The hat is dark green, difficult to see I know. Tina asked if I was going to wear a tie when we go to church. Seeing my clothes laid out, complete with neck tie, she suggested wearing one my Aloha shirts. I didn't need a second prompt, the temperature guage outside is all but touching 90 degrees. F.
Gamble & Gu-nn did me proud when they made this hat for me. I had sent them a photo of the shirt, how complimentary of Tina's work they were, I was impressed with the hat, it goes so well.
Looking fabulous as always, Robert.

Let's see what this week brought. It's Sunday after all. Started in a homburg mood.

Were getting a bit of a break from the brutally hot sun.... but its been replaced with off and on monsoon storms all day. This morning I can tell the weather is waiting for me to step outside before it starts... so its Akubra time for the morning coffee trip. This one is a Boomerang with a 3-1/2" brim in case I need a bit more rain coverage. Supposedly when todays front moves through, were going to have two or three days with a high of 80.....should be able to get out and about in felts for a couple days.

A modded Stetson Roadrunner got the call for a few hours on the Bitterroot.

My wife and I mountain biked the Bitterroot Loop back in 2014 or thereabouts. Harrison ID, Kellogg, Wallace, Avery, to St Marys back to Harrison.......but we had the bad fortune of doing it during a heat wave. The 95degree days were a struggle. . Overall it was a peak experience

Took out my Resistol CattleKing 5X in 094 Palomino Sz 7 purchased new in 1982 from Wells Boot Center Hurst TX for $75 & it''s fitting but coming in also under 22 circumference so about 21 7/8 in circum. I'm a 7 especially if the 7 has shrank a bit. I have to steam the brim down in the front. Bought this hat about a year ago & never really worked on it. It's a 4 inch brim.

I can wear a full 6 7/8 but getting that size is a gamble as it will be tight is it's shrunk so guess I'm going to call myself a 7.

Wearing the CattleKing & the crown is really high. Feels too high for my under 5 foot petite frame. Well, now I''m 5'3 :D

Update: Comparison with 6 7/8 LO
Also took out my Resistol Tycoon 3X in Granite 6 7/8 Long Oval. Fits good & comes in about 21 7/8 inch circum.

Trying to see what I have that works for me & figure out what size I really am which is a 6 7/8 LO if it's not shrunk but hats shrink. View attachment 797207 View attachment 797209 View attachment 797210
I have had two Resistols shrink. The leather headbands cracked in both of them.
