Off to the local recycling centre this morning. I've got ~ 70 kg of topsoil and mixed gravel to dispose of. A time for my favourite, if battered, plain baseball cap.

We can't always wear fur-felt fedoras...

Cant decide if I like the Hat or the pipe better! Cool front blew through here overnight, so Im out back for coffee with a large Ben Wade and a good American English blend.. Boswells Northwoods ( toasted Virginias and Latakia). Nice sunrise this morning too. Life is indeed good.

This is just my opinion, but I've become a huge fan of bound brims on fedoras. The binding gives the brim just the right amount of "tension" so you can flip it just the way you want. And I suspect it adds greatly to the hats overall longevity. A bound brim is just one of those subtle clues that separate a good, proper hat from the alternatives. Not sure I'd buy another felt hat without a bound brim.

A tribute to the Christmas color.

Mossant - Qualité Superieure, today on a cold day. It was below freezing at night.

The hat is described on the handwritten paper label as "Lievre Erable," or so I think.
Hare for the felt and maple for the color.

As always, Mossant hats with a short-haired finish are very soft. This is a relatively recent hat due to some details, such as the glued rather than sewn lining and a somewhat rushed attention to detail.
Regardless, the color is unique and the felt finish is superb.

Have a good day everyone, and welcome to the end-of-year hats.
