A new beret in yesterday from South Pacific Berets, manufactured by Boneteria Auloronesa in Oloron Sainte Maire and fitted with a custom New Zealand inspired lining. In russet and in a smaller diameter (9.5p) than I usually wear - perhaps a Stingymas candidate?

"Chiné Orage" is the color and the felt finish has a mottled hue, which, compared to the other hats I've shown you recently, introduces what's called "heather."

The felt is therefore called "Misto" in Italian, and "Chiné" in French.
The felt is very soft and has a deep gray color with lighter gray threads.
Very comfortable to wear, it was found about ten years ago in France among the leftovers of a shop in Strasbourg.

My second for StingyMas is a Wynewood that I believe to be a 60s vintage. 1.75" top-stitched brim, and a crown that's 4" at the front crush, and 4.5" at the sides.

7XCB on rainy day in Tupelo, MS. Drove my 93 year old pops to a Dermatology Clinic here in Tupelo to have some skin cancers removed from his face. Probably should’ve selected the Camp Draft but I just wore it the other day. But my hat choice, albeit a fine, fine hat, is the least of my worries today.
