What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Nice Mark. I like the sort of French horn pin.
Thanks Joe.:)

The pin is actually a European hunting horn, an insignia used by the military for light infantry and Jäger (*****) Regiments. US light Infantry used them until 1875, when crossed flintlock muskets were introduced (and still used).

The French Horn did in fact originate from these early hunting horns, but have more tubing of course.

I thought it a nice edition to my hat, especially given my background working with/training/commanding many units and individuals representing the 19th century United States Regular and Volunteer Infantry.;)

Cool. Thanks for the back story. It caught my eye as I actually played the French Horn (quite poorly) back in school. When played correctly however… to my ear it is one of the most beautiful sounding instruments. I think it was John Williams ET theme/score that really captured my interest for it. However from then on it was a bit of a love/hate relationship as I’m sure you can imagine I did myself no favors lugging that thing on to a crowed school bus every day in middle school.

Beautiful color combo on the Barbisio. That GBBFL is really shrugging off the rain. And something special about that Tirard

Well, at least "musket" got by the filter.
