Feels good to be back. The hats (or rather hat, singular) of the last ten days. The English hatter panama was the hat of service for my trip to Madeira.

That's a great Panama and a great backdrop. Had you not said that it was Maderia's rocky outcrop I could have mistaken it for Old Harry off The Dorset coast.

Welcome back Stefan, it's good to have you here.

My Hat today is my Akubra "Glenrock". If you haven't heard of that style, don't worry, neither have Akubra. Had a hatsbythe100 label on it, emailed them, absolutely no idea either. My Mystery hat. Classic Akubra, great in the rain. The hat band is a personal tribute to my grandparents, who are both sadly no longer with us. My grandad was a miner, my Grandma loved a navy polkadot dress or 4. Brim curl was my first attempt, and the crown is asymmetrical.

Today, I wore my favorite "knockaround" hat ... a blue Knox Tom 'n' Jerry stingy-brim fedora as I was joined by Robert Gault (@belfastboy) of Wolfbrae Custom Hatters for Hat Chat #27. On the show, I learned that Robert and I happen to have a lot in common as we both came from humble upbringings and share an affinity for the timeless style of Frank Sinatra. Indeed, this Knox Tom 'n' Jerry is probably the closest I have to a Sinatra hat in my collection. Needless to say, today we both "did it [our] way.”

Welcome home, Stefan. Great choice for a traveling hat, and that looks to be some SPECTACULAR scenery you traveled through!

Whippet Wednesday started with a Stetson Whippet tribute (sage felt hue).

I went out on an errand and switched to sport'n a Stetson Stratoliner. I wore this hat late last night for a dog soirée. It was on a block "drying" out and it was all too easy to reach for.

Cheers, Eric -
A beautiful trio, Eric, especially (for me) that lovely Whippet!

New custom made beaver western weight midnight blue hat turn up and the read black with low light to blue in sun trick worked.

Minor adjustments to the front still be played with as do not want an upward curl nor strong drop on the front. Bit more work since the photos and happy it reads formal. Ok feather is a tribute to my father’s frequent comment “a feather in your hat” so bit playful but life is too short to be stuffy.
