Thanks, Voo. The coat is a Bolini. Although single breasted, it has a bit of a pea coat feel to it. Here’s a couple of old shots with this coat and some Hornskovs.

I'm taking advantage of the last day available for the Stingy Mas...then we'll see

Borsalino probably produced in the 80s. The indications on the paper label are numbers, but it's worth seeing.

It is a medium-haired mix with a fantastic melange between light brown and beige. The ribbon is in the same color.

The brims are finished with a triple stitching or on the flap above the felt.
The day was magnificent with clear sunshine and an acceptable temperature. Let's hope it continues.

I'll have to find an excuse to justify the short brims.

On the Eleventh Day of StingyMas

Dobbs Twenty - On this.. the final day of StingyMas 2024, I bring to you this 1950s Dobbs Twenty in deep blue color. This is a hat that in all likelihood did not start its life as a stingy… but for whatever reason… a fashion choice or damage had It’s once likely 2 1/2 inch Guild Edge brim shortened into about as high quality a stingy you might find… whoever did this also appears to have made a valiant attempt to recreate the look of the Cavanagh edge which once adorned this thick luxurious dark blue felt. Thanks to @jlee562 for sending this one my way some years back.

And with that… as StingyMas draws to its close….

Heading out for coffee in my first scratch built hat for its first public outing this morning. Got the Sweatband sewn in and Liner fit last night. Did a little steaming and let it sit on a brim block overnight to get a little snap in the brim. Felt is really soft so I may end up with some stiffener on the brim to hold the shape a little better. Kind of a Fedora / Western crossover as it sits right now. Im sure there will be some more shaping before Im done. Going to play with some different ribbon/ bow combinations for the hatband over the next couple days

Thanks Gary. Yours with the deeper more dramatic crease looks great…. This one though was in such untouched shape when I got it I decided to leave it with this real shallow wide center dent and subtle side pinches. What did you mean.. if you removed the plastic?

On the final day of Stingymas, I chose to wear my favourite short brim for an evening's festivitas.

A very modern Borsalino bought new in 2015 at Petitgas in Copenhagen.

At a tad under 1.6 inches, it's the shortest short brim in my collection.
