I finally gave in: I bought @Colin G 's Dehen N-1 and it arrived yesterday. I'll be posting pictures of it in the future when the weather warrants it being worn. Although the shearling lining is very thick and makes for an ever-so-slightly tight fit, it's still a good size. Plus I'm guessing these extra 10 summer pounds aren't helping.

Colin was great to buy from! Answered all my questions, payment was a breeze, and he shipped out quickly. Jacket arrived ahead of schedule (nice job Canada Post and USPS!).

Fifteen days after finalising my custom order, it just arrived in Texas. Fit is perfect, the leather is amazing and I initial impression is great. More to follow, once I have time to really get to know it.

Oh man that’s cool. I absolutely love the contrast zipper tape. That’s as much an LL trademark as the badge (which appears omitted in your jacket). Superb!

After I stumbled across a used Lewis Leathers Racing Jacket No 442, which unfortunately does not fit, I can not get it out of my head.
So I asked Lewis Leathers by mail, how it looks with customizing in dark brown sheepskin. Am curious about the answer.

This is the 442 in horsehide. It looks pretty dull

Their dark brown sheepskin looks 10000x better

@MrProper ^^^What Marc said. Lewis horse is utility style leather, chrome tanned, painted finish. Very tough, will go through water and heat without changing shape. But does not age at all. Vinyl like.
Lewis veg tan Sheep is THE BOMB! Really luxurious and premium stuff.
I have the same jacket in both leather. I would go sheepskin over horse for Lewis.
Lewis is suppose to come out with a veg tan horse. But it could get expensive like their veg cow.

The sheepskin really does have a lot more character. I can see the appeal of both

Decided to cover the colder end of the spectrum with this old Pendleton coat.

I love the woolen flannels I have from them, stoked about this big boy.

I didn't have that on the radar at all. But after some positive reports here, I should try it out.

That sounds amazing Marc - that racing green sheepskin is one of the very best hides I have ever encountered anywhere - and it will look really classy on the Cyclone - a great combo and I look forward to seeing your posts on delivery!

Yes - definitely go for sheep in brown - I would only get the HH in their bright racing colours tbh.
