I was going to ask the same thing. Couldn’t read it even with enlarging the picture. And the only TRD I know is Toyota racing development

Order placed and deposit dropped for a custom vest from Johnson Leather.

Inspired by @Monitor LW Ryder vest (https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/lost-worlds-ryder-leather-vest-waistcoat.97840/) but in a 3/3.25 oz light brown CXL horsehide. I did opt for a nylon satin lining at their recommendation.

Fitting vest supposed to come July 16, finished vest mid August.

What style will it be??

TRD stands for “The Real Deal” LOL. True story though. That’s the name of the maker. Made in Ohio, I’ve seen not too many over the years. The hide looked good on this one and the seller seemed like a nice guy and I’m bored. So why not. Truly not expecting much. It’s also being delivered with matching chaps that I will have zero use for. Figure if nothing else it’s good to have a heaping pile of nice brown HH folded in the closet should the need for scrap or a project ever arise.

What style will it be??

Basically a Johnson Leathers Ryder Vest lol. 3” collar, 2 handwarmer and slanted chest pocket, half belt with 2 pleats and side cinches, added side panels for the half belt to be able to cinch, antique brass hardware and #7 zipper

The inspiration is rather direct. I think some of the details will differ, and the leather is definitely going to be lighter and with a less heavy finish, along with having the poly satin liner.

@Colin G Congrats. Beautiful jacket your new Dustbowl. Looking forward to fit pics. I often was close to buy one as I like this design but no longer need it due to the Brakeman coat. I hope you got it for a good deal. Probably from Yahoo Auctions, right? New or used? At least it looks new.

I bought this HH TRD. Hopefully it’s not a TURD. I remember @Guppy saying these were really nice jackets. Seller claims it’s 9lbs of HH. We’ll see. If the fit is good and it’s a quality jacket I’ll send it to Dena and have the goofy belt removed.

@ton312 Cool looking jacket with the side laces, leather color and belt - I've never heard of this brand before. If I was you I would not cut off the belt. I'm curious if its weight is really 9lbs. Looking forward to fit pics!

Not a jacket but have a new belt coming in case anyone looking for a solid belt. From a e nelson they make belts for langlitz. I bought a black one from langlitz and wear it all the time. Getting same configuration 1.75 in heavy leather dark brown with brass to match my new whites boots

still have not figured out for my custom JL center zip CHP jacket if going with belt loops or no loops. And debating on underarm gussets, eyelets, 3 piece sleeve, antique brass or brass hardware, badge holder, etc lol...I think if I get loops I might go all out and have a e nelson make me a sam browne belt and then add the badge holder. Prices are great for a solid thick leather usa made belt.

How does their belt size work? Give actual waist or waist +2”? Or some other method?

I think the number size is measurement of middle hole to end of buckle. I wear a 36 In this belt. Wear 33 levi. 34 inches actual around naval.

@Mrfrown i just measured my 36 belt it is 36 inches from middle hole of belt to end of belt where leather ends not including the buckle. Must be the way they do it unless it is coincidence for this size
