The seller on that one noted in an answer to a question that his grandfather, the hat's previous owner, was a senator in the Nevada senate. I did a Google search and came up with a reference to him in a letter discussing the gambling situation in Cuba in 1958 and the Americans involved in it. Seems he was one of the operators of the Havana Hilton Casino.

This was listed on Ebay some months ago for about 130 bucks. I was watching it waiting for the price to go down but it never did. Lo and behold I was on Etsy and found the same hat that the seller relisted at 70 bucks. I jumped on it:

Yet another Stetson model I've never seen - in an ad or as a hat. Take out the pins and it's a winner.
HatCo sued Stetson over the name, claiming that a Railbird was identical to the Dobbs Gamebird. Stetson won.

There's a store up there called Salmagundi that has a lot of new-design ladies' hats, as well as cool men's hats. I've been on the phone with them over the weekend. Definitely also worth a look IMHO.
